The primary goal of GO-Mentor is to create and establish an evidenced-based financially sustainable model that will address the diverse needs of this population. This model will be designed upon the program of the Utah Youth Mentor Project and will empower youth before they “age out” with supportive trained mentors and resources for life skills, positive self-esteem, resiliency, personal safety, quality of life, jobs, education, housing, and other high-risk youth needs. The organizational structure of this model will also be developed to include alliance groups and become reproducible in all 50 of the United States, thus making it available to all that are transitioning into adult living from foster care. A National data base center of coordination will be included and case studies reflecting the social service cost savings collectively due to the projected outcomes will be written.
